We take great pride in our House System and believe that it provides invaluable opportunities for pupils to experience leadership and corporate responsibility.
Our four houses, Anthony Browne, Roald Dahl, JK Rowling and Jacqueline Wilson, each have House and Sports Captains and Vice Captains who hold individual roles of responsibility. Our House Captains and their Vices represent the school at functions, run house meetings and organise the annual Walton Oaks Got Talent competition; while our Sports Captains and their Vices represent the school at various intra school events and also assist the PE teachers and lunchtime supervisors in the day to day running of the school.
The house cup is awarded weekly to the house with the most house points and we also operate the unique ‘Mighty Tubes of Glory’ system. Pupils are rewarded for good behaviour at playtime in the form of coloured tokens which are placed in the ‘Mighty Tubes of Glory’ and are counted up at the end of each half term, the winning house gaining extra playtime.
Our House Captains, Sports Captains and their Vice Captains undergo a rigorous recruitment process, consisting of writing letters of application, finding supporting references and undergoing interviews.
